When the blood veins around the rectum area are strained hemorrhoids can be formed; there are two types of hemorrhoids, internal and external. The external hemorrhoids can be seen, felt and can even cause itching, burning as well as pain at times but the internal type cannot be felt unless they get large enough to get out of the rectum during bowel movement or otherwise in the form of what is known as prolapsed hemorrhoids.
